Best prawn/shrimp dish I’ve ever enjoyed - Spicy Sweet Chili Prawn! Huge prawns prepared magnificently! Peking duck-impeccable! Extraordinary service. Outdoor terrace a treat in the summer. Dishes served at adjoining tables looked as generous & delicious. Book ahead because they’re that amazing!

Located within The Peninsular Chicago, Shanghai Terrace is a vibrant Chinese cuisine experience and as the name suggests, the terrace, makes for a unique fine dining atmosphere to enjoy during the warmer months. The Peking Duck is a highlight but so many of the traditional dishes are presented with a slight twist and are absolutely delicious. Excellent service. Thoroughly recommended.

The service and atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. This is our second year coming here for our anniversary dinner and had an amazing time! Our server Max was awesome! Food was amazing and they even brought us 2 desserts for our anniversary. Will definitely be coming back again!

The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and always had a smile on their face, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was good overall, especially the beef dumplings and Entree sea bass, both were delicious and definitely worth ordering. The wine and champagne list selection was also very nice. A special thank you to Chonlakorn (I hope I spelled your name correctly), who provided exceptional service. She was attentive, professional, and made us feel well taken care of throughout our meal.

An elegant high end Chinese restaurant experience with foods that we often have on tables with white plastic tablecloths. We really enjoyed the experience and the food. The service was great - fun, professional and suggestions made were terrific. Our meal of soup, dim sum, and lobster was perfectly paced and delicious. Look forward to returning to try more dishes.
